Characters and objects represented. Mrs. Pussy, four kittens, mouse, and swallows. House, door, barn, barn-door, and nest. The ring can be divided into two squares if desired. The lower ring or square is the house, where .Mrs. Pussy lies with her kittens asleep on the floor near the door. In one corner a mouse peeps from its hole. The door is formed by two children facing one another with joined hands lifted high to represent areh. The second ring is the barn, also with door. The door of house faces the barn-door with a short space between. Flying about the barn are the swallows; while in one corner stands a child with hands held so as to form a nest.
First Verse. Cat and kittens asleep near the door.
Second Verse. Pussy jumps up and with her kittens crawls stealthily about looking for mouse. When near tin1 mouse's hole the mouse pops back out of sight.
Third Verse-.
They all start for barn. Here they try to catch the swallows flying about here and there. At last the swallows reach the nest and are safe. The game can end here, or cat and kittens can go back to house and pretend to eat their dinner from a plate near the door.
